New England Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence
The New England Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence (NECPGV) is working to reduce gun-related homicides, suicides and unintentional injuries throughout New England and across the country. NECPGV brings together organizations and individuals from all six New England states to collaborate on education, policy and other regional projects to help raise awareness about this urgent issue and to reduce gun injuries and deaths.
Our past work includes:
- Educational meetings with each of the 2004 Democratic presidential primary candidates in New Hampshire
- Educating news reporters about the importance of gathering information about where crime guns are coming from
- Public awareness campaigns to promote public safety initiatives such as the Federal assault weapons ban.
We are currently working to raise public awareness about the illegal gun crisis in New England and urging regional solutions like criminal background checks for all gun sales and transfers through our Red Flag Campaign initiative.
